Is Syria using Chemical Warfare?

There is talk of chemical warfare being used against civilians. Many of the casualties being children.

Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international medical humanitarian organization created by doctors and journalists in France in 1971.

Doctors Without Borders’ statement follows claims that 1,300 people were killed in a “chemical massacre” in Damascus.

Around 3,600 Syrians have been treated for “neurotoxic symptoms”, and 355 of them have died, says the humanitarian group Doctors Without Borders (MSF).

The victims flooded into three Syrian hospitals on the day that hundreds of people were allegedly killed in a “chemical massacre” outside the capital Damascus.

They all arrived within less than three hours of each other, said MSF director of operations Bart Janssens.

He said the pattern of events and reported symptoms “strongly indicate mass exposure to neurotoxic agent”.

“Medical staff working in these facilities provided detailed information to MSF doctors regarding large numbers of patients arriving with symptoms including convulsions, excess saliva, pinpoint pupils, blurred vision and respiratory distress,” he said.

Who is responsible for the use of the nerve gas? Some say it is the Syrian regime, others say it is the rebels (people opposing Assad).

Free Syrian Army spokesman Louay Almokdad denied that rebels had use chemical weapons.

“In any case, we don’t have the mechanism to launch these kinds of weapons, which would need missiles that can carry chemical warheads, and we in the FSA do not possess these kind of capabilities,” Mr. Almokdad told CNN.

“More importantly, we do not aspire to have (chemical weapons) because we view our battle with the regime as a battle for the establishment of a free democratic state

I fear the same thing will happen in Syria as in Iraq. People in Iraq claimed that there were no chemical weapons in Iraq, however stories of Saddam Hussein gassing more than 3,000 people in an Iraqi Kurdish village 25 years ago prove otherwise.

And then, theres this angle…

Ben Swann
Syrian state television claims the attack came at the hand of al Qaeda backed “rebel” forces. As we reported on Friday, the U.S., Israel and Jordan have been training rebel guerrilla fighters for months just across the border from Syria in Jordan. According to several reports, a wave of 300 or so fighters were sent across the Syrian border on August 17th, and a second wave on August 19th.

Since the reported chemical attack last Wednesday, the Obama administration and members of Congress have been pushing the line that Syria’s President Bashar al Assad ordered the use of a chemical weapon on the outskits of Damascus.

According to CNN, one U.S. officials claims “There is nothing credible to indicate that the rebels, either the Syrian National Council or even al-Nusra Front, have used chemical weapons,” the official said. “Only the Assad regime is responsible for chemical weapons use.”

But that statement is false. When it comes to this latest incident, at this point we don’t know what kind of chemical might have been used. Nor do we know who used it. Some of the claims early on from “unnamed government sources” were that sarin gas was used in that Damascus suburb. The use of sarin gas would point toward the Assad regime, would it not?

Not necessarily. What the media isn’t telling you is that in May Turkish security forces found a 2kg cylinder with sarin gas after searching the homes of Syrian militants from the “Al-Qaeda”. Where did the sarin gas come from?! We don’t know.

Could this be the cover up to start a war with Syria?

So many stories, we don’t know who to believe. However… What happens after this strike? Will the US-UK intervention actually make a difference? Syria will be further devastated with millions more displaced and who knows how many massacred. Who will be in power after the US and UK, “save” Syria?
Forgive the sarcasm, its just that we’ve seen this before and the agendas do not seem too clear. All I think about are places like Abu Ghreib where the US believes they are holding terrorists and yet there are numerous accounts of innocent people being held without fair trial for years.

What we can agree on is that there definitely is a third party involved. There always has to be in order to hide the truth from the people by controlling the media and keeping the masses controlled and in constant fear. In the end, the innocent bear the brunt of the selfish and inhumane decisions of those in power.

When has there ever been a time where a powerful country steps in without wanting something in return? When do powerful nations ever do something solely for the upliftment of the people?? I’m sure you know the answer.

It is the question on many a mind- What can we do to stop this? We will continue to strive for justice of the oppressed by du‘a and humanitarian efforts while our hearts bleed for them. It starts small, from deep within. Make the change inside first. Allah is not asleep. In the end, every one shall give account of what they used to do. May Allah allow His justice to prevail. Do not leave us Yaa Rabb for even the blinking of an eye!
