Ummul Hasanaat deactivating Facebook account

Madrasah Ummul Hasanaat will be deactivating it’s Facebook account soon due to the “Everybody draw Mohammed Day”  furore. I mean Facebook allowing it to go on is promoting hatred and prejudice between people solely on religious grounds. That is so uncalled for. Whoever came up with this “Draw Mohammed” idea knew what buttons to push to cause this unnecessary fitnah.
Remember Muntadhar Az Zaidi, the Iraqi journalist  who whipped off his shoes and hurled them at George Bush during the president’s unannounced stop in Baghdad? For those of you who are not too familiar with this incident, Zaidi called his shoe-throwing, a traditional insult in Arab culture, a “farewell kiss” to a “dog” who launched the 2003 invasion of Iraq. Zaidi was detained and assaulted and tortured during interrogation. On March 12, 2009, Zaidi was sentenced to three years in prison for assaulting a foreign head of state during an official visit. On April 7 the sentence was reduced to one year from three years. He was released on 15 September 2009 for good behavior, after serving nine months of the sentence. (After his release, Zaidi was treated for injuries and later said he planned to “build orphanages, a children’s hospital, and medical and orthopaedic centres offering free treatment and manned by Iraqi doctors and medical staff).

That’s what you get for throwing shoes which by the way missed Bush’s head. Yet drawing the most offensive pictures of one religion, in this case Islam and it’s Prophet is openly tolerated! Perhaps some of us will think it harsh to deactivate our Facebook accounts, but I personally viewed the cartoons and the tears just streamed down my face. My hair stood on end, I was nauseas and kept crying to the heavens “O Allah how can this be happening?” Deactivating Ummul Hasanaat’s Facebook account is a view of Madrasah Ummul Hasanaat, not a fatwa or anything like that. Whatever you do, show that you care for our Rasoolullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam, May Peace of Allah be upon him). Follow his Sunnah, as many as you can.

Secondly, remember that Muslims will not and should not tolerate blasphemy on any of our other Prophets. Whether it be Jesus (Eesaa Alayhi Salaam) or Moses (Moosa Alayhi Salaam) or Solomon (Sulaymaan Alayhi Salaam), etc. It is the aqeedah of the Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamaah that we believe in ALL the Prophets of Allah.

Thirdly, Muslims should never insult any other religion. Do not desecrate or vandalise their churches, synagogues, temples or any places of worship. We are a peace loving people who spread Deen ul Islam by our character first before anything else.
Muslims have never had a site like “Everybody Draw Jesus or Buddha, etc. and we should not retaliate in that way with regard to this offensive, hurtful page allowed by Facebook.

May Allah unite  the hearts of  ALL MUSLIMS.
