The virtue of passing away on a Friday

Question:

What is the virtue of a person passing away on a Friday?

Answer:

A Muslim who passes away on a Friday is saved from the punishment of the grave. It is narrated on the authority of Abdullah bin Amr that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said:

عن عبد الله بن عمرو قال : قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم ما من مسلم يموت يوم الجمعة أو ليلة الجمعة إلا وقاه الله فتنة القبر

“A Muslim who passes away on the day or eve of Jumuah (Friday) will be saved from the punishment of the grave”.

(Sunan Tirmizi, Hadith #: 1074, Turath)
