“I shook his hand and prayed behind him in Fajr! I can’t believe it! That’s so cool!”, shouts eight year old, Abdur-Rahmaan Jamal. His awesome recital of Surahs as-Sajdah and ad-Dahr and du’a in Fajr salaah on Friday morning, 29 June 2012 gave those here in Newcastle a great start to their mornings.
Abu Bakr Ibn Mohamed Al Shatri was born in 1970 in Jeddah, KSA. He grew up in Jeddah and graduated in Qur-aan studies from Shaykh Ayman Rushdi Suwaid in 1416 AH. He then earned a masters degree in accountancy four years later.
Shaykh Abu Bakr Al Shatri has led prayers in many Saudi mosques like Al Rajihi, Said Ibn Jubair, Abdullatif Jamil, At-taqwa and As-salama. He is currently the Imaam of the Al Furqaan Masjid in Hay An-nassim in Jeddah.
Thousands world-wide have imitated the Shaykh’s melodious style of reading.
The respected Shaykh is currently in Mpumalanga (Eastern Transvaal) and will continue on tour till the 10th July 2012 in the Nelspruit / Komatipoort area InshaaAllah.
