It is obligatory for every adult Muslim male and female to recite the Takbeeraat of Tashreeq after every Fardh Salaah performed (with Jama’ah/congregation or individually) from today i.e.the Fajr of the 9th of Dhul Hijjah to the ‘Asr of the 13th of Dhul Hijjah. The Takbeeraat should be recited once only.
Men should recite this Takbeer audibly whilst females should do so silently.

Duas at Arafah

Today the Hujjaaj (pilgrims) will stand on the plains of ‘Arafah where our souls stood before Allah testifying that our Lord is One.
It was reported that Ibn ‘Abbaas (radhiyallahu anhu) said: Rasoolullah (sallallhu alayhi wa sallam) said: ‘Allaah took the covenant from the offspring of Adam in Na’maan, i.e., ‘Arafah. He brought forth … all his offspring and spread them before Him, then He addressed them, and said: ‘Am I not your Lord? They said, ‘Yes, we testify,’ lest you should say on the Day of Resurrection: ‘Verily, we have been unaware of this.’ Or lest you should say: ‘It was only our fathers aforetime who took others as partners in worship along with Allah, and we were (merely their) descendents after them; will You then destroy us because of the deeds of men who practised Al-Baatil (i.e., ploytheism and committing crimes and sins, invoking and worshipping others besides Allah)?’ .’ Narrated by Ahmad and classed as saheeh by al-Albaani. And there is no greater day than this and no greater covenant than this.

The Hujjaaj should reach ‘Arafah at any time between zawwaal….. Click here to Read More

Darul Uloom Newcastle Fire (update) – Exclusive Photos

The Aftermath – Exclusive Photos.
I went to Darul Uloom today and was able to get some photos. The site is horrific but Alhamdulillah no-one was hurt. Reports say that the building was scheduled for demolishing to make way for a new building, but not only did the walls, stairs and roof go up in flames but personal belongings of those who lived there. I remember the days when we would buy toasted egg sandwiches and sit in the eating room and chat or the students making burgers. Those were the good ‘ol days but now we can only look forward to a cleanup and a new building for generations to come.

99 Names of Allah Frame Assignment

Students were given an optional task of creating a frame choosing one of the Asma al Husnaa (beautiful Names of Allah). The assignment facilitator was our arts and crafts teacher Faheemah Docrat and it was supervised by myself. Students were judged on creativity, presentation, (of actual frame and speech on what the name meant as well as how they perceived the meaning of the specific name). I was stunned by the creativity of the students. I am glad that after this assignment, students will never forget the name of Allah that they chose for the frame.

Students were awarded certificates of participation as well as prizes for “Most Creative”. Awards of 1st, 2nd and 3rd place were based on the student doing her own work as well as the speech and presentation.
Subhaanallah, they really went all out. I am so proud of them.
Visit the Gallery-Calligraphy for pictures of the frames at http://www.ummulhasanaat.co.za/gallery?album=1&gallery=5&nggpage=2

darul-uloom-fire

A fire broke out today from the top floor of one of the Darul Uloom’s buildings, better know as “Cook-Saheb’s Room” by the students. The whole building was completely engulfed in flames leaving nothing but burnt walls. Alhamdulillah no one was injured. Reports say that the fire started at 17:30 and continued until 18:30. There are no reports as yet as to how the fire actually started. One thing for sure is all that is left are the memories that students have of buying food from Cook Saheb “Cooksub” and “chilling” in the eating room.

There were many students and local residents who came to the firefighters aid and great admiration has to be given to all of them for their bravery in trying to save the building and (more…)

Tawaaf

There are 5 types of tawaaf: (1) Welcome tawaaf (Tawaaf ul-Qudoom); (2) Umrah tawaaf; (3) Tawaaf for Hajj (also known as Tawaaf ul-Hajj, Tawaaf uz-Ziayarah or Tawaf-al-Ifadah); (4) Farewell Tawaaf (Tawaaf ul-Widaa); (5) Optional tawaaf (nafl tawaaf).

The Welcome tawaf (Tawaf-al-Qudoom) is performed by those performing the Ifraad and Qiraan methods of Hajj.

Ihraam garb for males is wearing two unsewn pieces of white cloth. His right shoulder will be open (idhtibaa), and he will walk briskly during the first 3 rounds/shawts (ramal). This is required for the Tawaaf Qudoom and the Tawaaf of ‘Umrah. Several male pilgrims do not wear their ihraam clothes correctly. It is a common sight to see them in ihraam with their awrah exposed! Men should always take precaution that the ihraam always stays in place. This can be difficult at times as there is nothing like elastic or a seam keeping the Ihraam together.

Ihraam, idhtibaa and ramal are not necessary for the compulsory Tawaaf uz-Ziyaarah, Tawaaf ul Widaa and Nafl Tawaaf as the pilgrim is out of Ihraam when making these Tawaafs.

Farewell tawaaf is the last act to be performed before leaving….. Click here to Read More

Talbiyah / Labbaik

Be the first to post a comment.| 84 people viewed this post.

When the pilgrim raises his voice with Talbiyah, he remembers that he answers the call of the Almighty and that there will be another call on the Last Day, when people will be either punished or rewarded.
The Talbiyah signifies a response to the summons of Allah, Most High.
And proclaim the pilgrimage among men: they will come to thee on foot and (mounted) on every kind of camel, lean on account of journeys through deep and distant mountain highways.
This trains the soul to acknowledge the Oneness of Allah and to be sincere towards Him. The pilgrim starts his Hajj with Tawhid, and continues to recite the Talbiyah with its words of Tawhid, and he moves from one action to the next with Tawhid.
When the pilgrim is reciting the Talbiyah, he feels a connection with all other created beings, as they all join with him in submission to Allah alone and echo his Talbiyah.
The Messenger (pbuh) said: “There is no Muslim who recites the Talbiyah but whatever is to his right and to his left of stones, rocks and clods recites it with him, to the furthest point to….. Click here to Read More
